Norman Davenport Lutheran Parish
Two ELCA Lutheran churches working together to
serve the Kindred and Davenport North Dakota communities
Welcome to the Norman Davenport Lutheran Parish, a partnership created in 1966. The original parish included five congregations including First Lutheran Church of Fargo. A later realignment in 1899, officially known as the Norman Parish, included Christiania, St. John's and Norman. This arrangement prevailed for 67 years until St. John's realigned with Horace and Norman welcomed Davenport instead.
Norman Lutheran Church is nestled along the Sheyenne river in Kindred, North Dakota. It is the oldest continually operating congregation in the state of North Dakota celebrating 150 years in 2022.
Davenport Lutheran Church is located in the heart of the city of Davenport, North Dakota. The congregation celebrated 125 years in 2021.
ALL ARE WELCOME. Join us at either church on a Sunday morning or any event during the week!
Rooted in Christ • Growing in Grace • Seeding the Future
The Foundation was created in 2022 using proceeds from the sale of the Norman Lutheran Church parsonage. Those funds were invested and will continue to grow and allow us to spread the word of God into our community through a grant giving process.
Learn more on how you can help fulfill the mission "to further and foster the kingdom of Jesus Christ in the Norman Lutheran Church and its surrounding communities" by giving to this Foundation or applying for a grant or mini-grant today.
