Pastor’s Prayer –
Lord, we thank you for this day and for bringing each person here this morning. Help each of us to accept the invitation from Jesus which is, “Come, live in me! Make my home your home.” Help us to remember that God is near, and with us always. He promises that his supernatural peace will guard our hearts and our minds. Our minds can be filled with God-glorifying, healthy thoughts when we live with Jesus as Jesus lives with us. We know, Lord, that with you we can stop living with perpetual worry and anxiety. With you, we can lead a life in which we are anxious for nothing. In your holy name, we pray. Amen.
HYMN OF THE DAY: Love Divine, All Loves Excelling (ELW 631) vs 3-4
APOSTLES’ CREED (ELW p. 152)
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.*
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
