Our thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of Shirley Jermstad. Shirley passed away on Monday, April 4th. Shirley has been a long time member of Davenport Lutheran, an inspiring teacher to many and a friend to all. May the Lord wrap His loving arms around Clarence, Jim, Wayne & Shawna and family as they go through this difficult time. God Bless you Shirley!

***Our Lent offering will be going to help & continue to show our love & support to our local family with medical and travel expenses for Garrett Fenner, a 9th grader at KHS. Garrett was granted his Make A Wish last weekend!
*Lutheran World Relief This lent we will be collecting donations for Lutheran World Relief. Each week is a new item to bring. Our goal is to have 24 sets to send to Lutheran World Relief. Week 1- Bars of Soap (any kind, in original wrapping) Week 2- Bath Towels (light weight, 52x27 dark colors recommended) Week 3- Toothbrushes (adult size) Week 4- Combs Week 5- Nail clippers
*DUE THIS FRIDAY…..KAMA Community Easter Food Baskets. Items for donation are Norman 20 bags/boxes of dinner rolls and Davenport 20 cans of green beans. As a Parish we also are responsible for 5 hams. If you would like to make a monetary donation to these items, please see Pastor Katie or Joan. Bring items by Friday April 8th.
*Mark your Calendars... Our Parish Youth and families' spring service project is scheduled for Sunday April 24th. with some spring cleanup of our cemeteries for Memorial Day. All help will be appreciated and hoping our youth, grade 5 and up will join us - families are welcome! This is a weather permitted event, our back up day will be Sunday, May 1st.
*Bethany Annual Geranium Sales...order forms are here for the annual geranium sales from Bethany Auxiliary. Order forms at the church. Proceeds will go toward providing items for Bethany residents such as devotional booklets, Forum subscriptions, Netflix services and more. CAROL JOHNSON WILL DELIVER THEM. Opening Prayer Create a clean heart in me, O God: a humble heart, a meek heart, a peaceful heart, a benevolent heart, a devout heart which does evil to no one, which does not repay evil for evil, but overcomes evil with good, which loves you above all things, thinks always about you, speaks about you, gives you thanks, delights in hymns and spiritual songs, and has its citizenship in heaven. 1st Reading - Joel 2: 12-14 “Even now,” declares the Lord, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.” Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity. Who knows? He may turn and relent and leave behind a blessing—grain offerings and drink offerings for the Lord your God.”
Psalm – Psalm 130:5-6 “I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word, I put my hope. I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning.”

Closing Prayer Lord, we give you thanks for this wonderful evening of prayer and worship. We thank you for guiding each person here tonight and pray that they have felt your presence with them during this time and will continue to on the journey ahead. Lord, help us to hear the still small voice of God in the silence. Help us to find a solitary place, search our hearts, and be silent in your presence. Let our schedules, time, and lives reflect that of a person wanting to hear God’s voice. In your Holy name, we pray, Amen.
