PRELUDE/WELCOME & ANNOUNCEMENTS

GATHERING PRAYER (UNISON) God of grace, you have given us minds to know you, hearts to love you, and voices to sing your praise. Fill us with your Spirit, that we may celebrate your birth among us, and worship you anew this Christmas Season. Amen.

OPENING CAROL – O Come All Ye Faithful – (#283) vs. 1 and 4

SHARING OF THE PEACE*

CHILDREN’S MOMENT

LIGHTING OF THE ADVENT CANDLES – Westby Family Norman, Schmit Family Davenport

CAROL - O Come, O Come, Emmanuel (#257) vs. 1 – 3

SCRIPTURE/MEDITATION – Pastor Kathy Valan

APOSTLE’S CREED

I believe in God, the Father almighty,

creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord,

who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

born of the virgin Mary,

suffered under Pontius Pilate,

was crucified, died, and was buried;

he descended to the dead.*

On the third day he rose again;

he ascended into heaven,

he is seated at the right hand of the Father,

and he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

the holy catholic church,

the communion of saints,

the forgiveness of sins,

the resurrection of the body,

and the life everlasting. Amen.

CAROL – The First Noel (#300) vs. 1-3

HOLY COMMUNION

LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father, who art in heaven,

hallowed be thy name,

thy kingdom come,

thy will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread;

and forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those

who trespass against us;

and lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom,

and the power, and the glory,

forever and ever. Amen.

COMMUNION CAROL – Away in a Manger (#278)

PRAYERS OF INTERCESSION

Christ, born in a stable, give courage to all who are homeless: Jesus, Savior, hear our prayer.

Christ, for whom the angels sang, give the song of the kingdom to all who weep: Jesus, Savior, hear our prayer.

Christ, worshipped by the shepherds, give peace on earth to all who are oppressed: Jesus, Savior, hear our prayer.

Christ, before whom the wise men knelt, give humility and wisdom to all who govern: Jesus, Savior, hear our prayer.

Christ, whose radiance filled a lowly manger, give the glory of your resurrection to all who rest in you: Jesus, Savior, hear our prayer.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Father, full of the Spirit, hear our prayer, receive our praises, fill our lives. Amen.

OFFERING CAROL - As with Gladness Men of Old (#302) 1-4

OFFERING PRAYER Let us pray.

Blessed are you, O God, maker of all things. Through your goodness, you have blessed us with these gifts: ourselves, our time, and our possessions. Use us, and what we have gathered, in feeding the world with your love, through the one who gave himself for us, Jesus Christ, our Savior, and Lord.

CAROL –Angels We Have Heard on High (#289)

SENDING God blesses us and sends us in mission to the world.

BLESSING The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord’s face shine upon and be gracious to you. The Lord look upon you with favor and ☩ give you peace. In the name of the Father, Son & Holy Spirit. Amen.
